What is the use of solid state electrolytic capacitor
There is an electrolyte material for storing electric charge inside the electrolytic capacitor, which has positive and negative polarity, similar to the battery and can not be reversed. The positive electrode is a metal substrate adhered with an oxide film, and the negative electrode is connected with the electrolyte (solid and non solid) through the metal plate. What is the use of solid state electrolytic capacitor?
1. DC isolation: the function is to prevent DC from passing and let AC pass.
2. Bypass (decoupling): provides a low impedance path for some elements in parallel in an AC circuit.
3. Coupling: as a connection between two circuits, it allows AC signals to pass through and transmit to the next circuit
4. Filter: This is very important for DIY, the capacitance on the graphics card is basically this role.
5. Temperature compensation: in view of the influence brought by other components' insufficient adaptability to temperature, compensation is carried out to improve the stability of the circuit.
6. Timing: capacitor and resistor used together to determine the time constant of the circuit, time constant T = RC.
7. Tuning: system tuning of frequency related circuits, such as mobile phones, radios and televisions.
8. Rectifier: to turn on or off the semi closed conductor switching element at a predetermined time.
9. Energy storage: storing electrical energy for release when needed. For example, camera flash, heating equipment and so on.
